This semester I'm taking a Contemporary Media class and my first assignment is to write a blog post explaining what contemporary Media is. I had to do a little research on google to find the meaning of new media. Listed below is a definition that i liked and understood because i use the same media everyday.
According to Wikipedia.org, the definition of New Media is defined as:
"Content available on demand through the Internet, accessible on any digital device, usually containing interactive user feedback and creative participation. Common examples of new media include websites such as online newspapers, blogs, or wikis, video games, and social media."
What does New Media mean to me?
I feel that new media is compilation of modern art and design. For example, new media can be represented by either digital creations, fine art productions, social media, and anything you can find on the Internet or in the cloud.
